With a low population density and spectacular swaths of the Canadian wilderness to behold along the way, a Canadian Atlantic Bubble road trip can be a lot of fun.
For those interested in camping, reservations in Provincial Parks and National Parks are open to residents of all four Atlantic Bubble provinces, so if you’re looking to check out the beaches in PEI near Stanhope National Park, or plan to explore the wilds of Newfoundland while tenting in Gros Morne National Park or Terra Nova National Park, all reservations for camping in Canadian National Parks need to be made in advance online.
When crossing between Atlantic Bubble Provinces, expect delays and be pleasantly surprised when there aren’t any.
Be sure to bring identification with you for all members of your group and be able to prove you’re all residents of one of the four Atlantic Bubble Provinces by showing a valid Atlantic Bubble Province driver’s license or another form of Government Photo ID detailing your current Atlantic Bubble Province address.
If you’re traveling by ferry between the mainland and Newfoundland, be sure to make a reservation in advance. This season, Marine Atlantic is offering free cancelation on all of its crossings, which means there’s more reason than ever to pre-book.
A limited number of cabins are also available during the crossing which makes the voyage extra deluxe with your own shower, bed, and television. These are especially nice when you take the night crossing but are also available during daytime sailings.
Expect things to be a little different. Some Atlantic Bubble Provinces like Nova Scotia requires mandatory masking in all public indoor spaces while other Atlantic Bubble Provinces currently do not.
There are plenty of services to take advantage of along the way, but if you have your heart set on a particular Atlantic Bubble accommodation provider, restaurant, or attraction, be sure to call in advance and confirm. This year more than ever, booking ahead of time is a good idea.
